The unmet need

Brain injury is still hard to detect.

TBI diagnosis and treatment are unmet needs in medicine — today there is no non-invasive, power-free, point-of-injury tool to detect a traumatic brain injury. Around 69 million new TBI cases occur annually, with up to 90% classified as mild. These "closed-head" injuries are frequently invisible, leaving many undiagnosed.

How ProbTBI® works

From injury to answer.

No imaging, no laboratory, no specialist. ProbTBI® brings an objective biomarker result to wherever the injury happens.

  1. 01

    Collect

A non-invasive urine or saliva sample taken at the point of injury — no needle, no scanner.

  2. 02

    Detect

A proprietary glycan biomarker captured by a lateral-flow assay.

  3. 03

    Read

A clear positive or negative result appears in minutes — no instrument.

  4. 04

    Act

Positive (injury indicated): escalate care immediately. Negative (no immediate injury detected): follow up and re-test if symptoms worsen.

ProbTBI® rapid test

A lab result, at the point of injury.

No imaging. No laboratory. No waiting. ProbTBI® puts an objective, biomarker-based answer in the hands of first responders, emergency teams, sports physicians and GPs.

Adult mild TBI

Biomarker presence confirmed in TBI patients.

Study 02Completed

Extended detection

Findings supported biomarker specificity to TBI.

Study 03Completed

Children & adolescents

Biomarker feasibility confirmed in a paediatric cohort.

“We have the opportunity to develop a portable, non-invasive test for quick detection of mild TBI and concussion — and thereby help patients and families who so desperately need it.”
