The unmet need

Brain injury is still hard to measure.

TBI diagnosis and treatment are unmet needs in medicine — today there is no non-invasive, power-free, point-of-care tool to assess the extent and severity of a traumatic brain injury. Nearly 5 million US emergency visits each year involve head injury, and up to 90% are mild TBI, many undiagnosed.

How ProbTBI works

From injury to answer.

No imaging, no central lab, no specialist. ProbTBI brings an objective biomarker result to wherever the injury happens.

01
Collect
A non-invasive body-fluid sample at the point of injury — no needle, no scanner.
02
Detect
A proprietary glycan biomarker binds on a lateral-flow cassette.
03
Read
A clear positive or negative appears in minutes — no instrument.
04
Act
Positive indicates injury — escalate care. Negative is all clear.
ProbTBI™ rapid test

A lab result, at the point of injury.

No imaging. No central lab. No waiting. ProbTBI puts an objective, biomarker-based answer in the hands of first responders, emergency teams, sports physicians and GPs.

Adult mild TBI

Biomarker presence, TBI specificity and time-course after injury across Finnish central hospitals.

Extended detection

Accelerated recruitment at Turku University Hospital; comparison to orthopedic and healthy controls.

Study 03Completed

Children & adolescents

Large paediatric cohort with suspected mild TBI — validating the test in young patients.

We have the opportunity to develop a portable, non-invasive test for quick detection of mild TBI and concussion — and thereby help patients and families who so desperately need it.
